Supporting Government Programs: GK Foundation, Benih Baik, GRAB, and OVO Officially Launch Free Nutritious Meal Program
Jakarta, December 25, 2025 – As a manifestation of commitment to sustainable social impact, GK Foundation, in collaboration with Benih Baik, Grab, and OVO, is implementing the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program to support government efforts in improving nutritional fulfillment for school children. This program is part of a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative that combines social care, technological utilization, and local economic empowerment.
In its first phase, the MBG program was implemented at Kanisius Sukorejo Schools in Kendal Regency, which includes Kanisius Immaculata Kindergarten, Kanisius Sanjaya Elementary School, and Kanisius Argokoloso Junior High School. A total of 225 beneficiaries, including students, teachers, and school staff, receive nutritious meals regularly during teaching and learning activities.
“We believe that access to nutritious food is a vital foundation for children’s growth and their future. Through this program, GK Foundation aims to be closer to the community and provide a real impact, not only for school children but also for the surrounding community,” said Bhaskara, Chairman of GK Foundation.
The MBG program involves local MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) around the schools as catering partners. In addition to ensuring nutritional quality and food safety, this program also opens economic opportunities for small business owners. Several MSME partners recorded an increase in income of up to 2–4 times, while also creating new jobs for the local community.
The utilization of Grab’s technology is a crucial part of maintaining program transparency and quality. Through an integrated ordering system, real-time monitoring, and a technology-based Command Center, the food provision process can be supervised from the kitchen until it reaches the beneficiaries.
The impact of this program is felt directly by the school environment. “The children look more energetic and focused while studying. For us as teachers, this is not just about lunch, but a very meaningful form of care for their well-being,” said Rosa, a teacher at Kanisius Sanjaya Elementary School.
“I’m happy because I can eat delicious and healthy food with my friends. It makes me more excited to go to school,” said Alen, a student at Kanisius Sanjaya Elementary School.
Through this cross-sector collaboration, GK Foundation hopes that the Free Nutritious Meal program can serve as an example of synergy between the business world, technology, and the community in creating measurable and sustainable social impact. Moving forward, GK Foundation is committed to continuing social initiatives that provide real value for the community and the future of the nation’s next generation.
