GK Group Hosts 2025-2026 Macroeconomic & Sector Outlook Event

Jakarta, October 28, 2025 – In preparation for the 2026 Planning Cycle, GK Group held the Macroeconomic & Sector Outlook 2025–2026. This event is part of the company’s strategic efforts to design an adaptive and sustainable business direction.

The event featured two keynote speakers: Djap Tet Fa, CEO of PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk, and David Arie Santoso, Head of Research at STAR Asset Management. Both shared strategic insights regarding macroeconomic conditions and the prospects of Indonesia’s leading sectors. Through this session, GK Group leaders received specific projections for the group’s existing sectors and pillars, enabling more refined strategy formulation, budgeting, and 2026 business planning.

The session opened with strategic remarks from Gandi Sulistiyanto, Chairman of GK Group, who emphasized the vital importance of being prepared for change.

“Every living being must be ready for change, and so must we. If a business only focuses on the present, the company may eventually become nothing more than a memory. Therefore, future strategies must be planned starting now,” he stated.

Djap Tet Fa highlighted the positive outlook for the global vegetable oil industry, which faces a significant supply deficit by 2050. According to him, palm oil remains the most efficient vegetable oil due to its high productivity and low costs, positioning Indonesia as a key global player. However, he stressed that sustainability must go hand-in-hand with productivity through the implementation of technology, research, and plantation digitalization.

“The future of the palm oil industry is not just about land expansion; it is about increasing yield and efficiency through innovation and sustainability,” said Djap Tet Fa.

Meanwhile, David Arie Santoso highlighted optimism regarding Indonesia’s economic recovery, supported by interest rate easing, accelerated fiscal spending, and stable inflation at 2.5%. The global vegetable oil industry also shows a continuously increasing demand trend, projected to reach 365 million tons by 2050, while production is only estimated at 223 million tons—creating a massive deficit.

This event served as a momentum for GK Group leaders to align their vision and strengthen collaboration heading into 2026, ensuring sustainable growth and positive contributions to employees, partners, and the community.
